Harbor Island - Southeast Floating Docks

A beautiful harbor in downtown Tampa, Fla., has emerged through the construction of five marinas consisting of concrete floating docks, designed, engineered, manufactured and installed by Southeast Floating Docks, Inc.

Two years ago Post Properties contracted Southeast Floating Docks to build a marina to house residents and transient guests who visit the up-scale residential and commercial development in the Garrison Channel, on Harbor Island in downtown Tampa, Fla.

The two newly built, multi-million dollar condominiums and The Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina are complimented by state-of-the-art concrete floating docks. Each marina was built separately by Southeast Floating Docks based in St. Augustine, Fla., but were designed similarly, to give the appearance of one large, magnificent marina.

The Marriott Hotel was completed in 2002 and has 36 slips. This marina is open to the public and hosts many large boating events. It includes all utilities, a fire suppression system and special ramps to provide handicap access to the slips. A special dock was also built to accommodate a large dinner cruise ship.

The GrandView, a 20 story high-rise, containing 64 units of luxury condominiums was completed this year by the Byrd Corporation of Clearwater, Fla. This marina is privately owned and operated by the GrandView condominium association.

Neighboring The GrandView are the Parkcrest apartments, under construction by Suitt- RKC, LLC. This marina will also be privately owned and operated by the condominium association.

Next year a final condominium will be built by the Lindell Corporation. However, work on the marina that accommodates the condo is currently underway.

Southeast Floating Docks, with it's well designed marinas of uniform appearance, provides continuity and scenic beauty to the waterways surrounding Harbor Island.
