ShoreMaster has entered an agreement to manufacture and sell floating concrete docks and breakwaters using the proprietary designs and patented connection technology developed by Rixo-bryggan.

Rixo-bryggan is based in Brastad, Sweden and has been manufacturing floating concrete docks for over 20 years. According to Martin Helgesson of Rixo-bryggan, “our designs have been developed to withstand the North Sea. They will hold up anywhere in the world.”

The Rixo docks and breakwaters feature an innovative, patented connection system which sets them apart from the competition. The concrete units are connected through hollow tubes, molded inside the concrete, hermetically sealed and completely protected against water and air. Polyurethane spacers are placed at the connection points between the floats. It is these polyurethane spacers which absorb the cable’s tension and the movement of the concrete floats as they rise and fall in the water as the result of wave action. The strength of the Rixo connection system is derived from the elasticity of the cables. Whereas other connection systems inevitably transfer tension force to the concrete, the Rixo cables absorb the energy, allow slight movement between the sections, and remove damaging stress from directly affecting the concrete.

Like Rixo-bryggan, ShoreMaster has been manufacturing floating dock systems for over 20 years. ShoreMaster’s products are currently manufactured with an aluminum or galvanized steel structure. ShoreMaster also manufactures and distributes a complete line of 12”, 16”, 20”, and 24” rotationally molded floats. ShoreMaster is based in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
