New Covered Slips Installed
at Brady Mountain Resort

Marina Dock Age - July/August 2004

A new covered dock on Arkansa's Lake Ouachita features
galvanized steel components and concreate decking.

Hot Springs, Arkansas- Lake Ouachita's Brady Mountain Resort recently completed the construction of a covered dock, which houses 40 slips. Many of the covered slips can accommodate 100' vessels. The dock system for these covered slips is a galvanized steel floating dock that's manufactured by ShoreMaster's Galva-Foam line. The docks have concrete decking, power pedestals, and a custom-designed roof.

The docks's galvanized steel components are scaled to bear the increased load of the structure. Brady Mountain Resort owner Ned Bass says the slips were constructed in response to growing demand for larger vessels. "There are more boats being built than there are slips to hold them," Bass adds.

The water in Lake Ouachita experiences a dramatic 10' fluctuation. To accommodate this, ShoreMaster/Galva-Foam designed the resort's floating dock with a winch and cable system to keep the dock secure in varying conditions. A concrete wave attenuator was also installed at the harbor's perimeter to better shelter the site from wind waves and boat wakes.
