docks are featured in the City of St. Paul’s restoration of
Harriet Island park across the Mississippi River from downtown St.
Paul.
Included in the restoration are new docks and ticket booths for the Padelford Packet Boat Co. riverboat excursion firm and expanded public dock space for boaters. The docks will also be the home for the Covington Inn, a floating bed and breakfast, and the No-Wake Café, a floating restaurant. Other features of the restoration include a bandshell designed by internationally known architect Michael Graves, a restoration of the Clarence W. Wigington Pavilion, a stone pavilion designed by St. Paul’s first black architect and a large greenspace for civic celebrations and other public events. On May 26, the city marked the 100th anniversary of Harriet Island park with the dedication of the restored Clarence W. Wigington Pavilion and the opening of the grand stairs down to the river. In September, the park itself will be rededicated with a huge celebration. ShoreMaster has been manufacturing boat lifts, docks and related waterfront equipment for over 25 years. ShoreMaster also manufactures and distributes a complete line of 12”, 16”, 20” and 24” rotationally molded floats. ShoreMaster is based in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. |
