HONORED BY MINNESOTA REHABILITATION ASSOCIATION |
ShoreMaster was named 1999's Non-metro, Small Employer of the Year
by the The award recognized ShoreMaster for its efforts to include special needs people in its workplace. "It's a great feeling to know your company is helping people find productive employment", said ShoreMaster CEO Dennis Tuel, Sr. In 1998, Productive Alternatives, a non-profit organization, created an enclave work group where Productive Alternatives recruits, trains and supervises special needs workers in ShoreMaster's production facility. The Productive Alternatives work group handles a large part of ShoreMaster's drilling, bending and grinding operations. According to Erik Ahlgren, ShoreMaster's president, "It's just good business. We get reliable employees who care about their jobs and do quality work. To us, good people are always an asset." The award was presented at a joint meeting of the National Rehabilitation Association and the Minnesota Rehabilitation Association in Minneapolis.
